Launched in 1997, the Peugeot 406 Coupe was styled by Pininfarina. It looked fantastic then, and the baby Ferrari 465GT design has definitely aged well. Two engines were available from launch - a 2.0-litre petrol and a 3.0-litre V6. The range-topping SE trim got all the toys as well as leather trim, and is definitely the one to go for today.

From 1997 to 2005, PininFarina built over 100,000 Peugeot 406 Coupés. The Calibra and the Audi TT sold better (on a more global market), but the former pretty much dates from a previous generation and the latter was a two-seater. Compared to the 406 saloon, the coupé is of course somewhat more aggressive, but also far more sculptural.
